A house full of things made by people we know.

d89 started in 2024 with a question we couldn't shake: why are there a thousand homeware shops but almost none that tell you who made what you're buying? Most are anonymous. Most are dropshipped from the same factory. Most things in most homes are designed to be replaced.

We work small. Forty pieces at a time, with seven makers across the UK and France. The stoneware comes from a studio in Stoke-on-Trent run by two people who fire in batches of forty — each piece signed on the base. The wool throws come from a Yorkshire mill that's been working since 1872. The brass is cast by hand in Birmingham, where brass has been cast by hand since the Victorians.

Our promise is simple: every piece is something at least one of us reaches for daily at home. If it's not good enough for our own kitchen or bedside, we don't sell it. If it doesn't last a decade of household use, we'll replace it.
